As society is facing an aging population, how can therapeutic design respond to the senior care community? What are the current and future needs of the elderly population? How can the design and construction of the retirement community break away from traditional thinking and meet the actual needs?
For the above series of problems, HOPE Design and the School of Forestry and Landscape Architecture of South China Agricultural University and the Real Estate Design Management Department of Taikang Insurance Group jointly held a workshop. Through the practice and discussion of the design and a dynamic cooperation model, we can explore how to build the therapeutic landscape of the elderly community.
On the morning of August 2, 2019, the workshop was officially opened at the School of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, South China Agricultural University. The curriculum of this workshop includes lectures and exchanges by renowned experts in the industry, field visits, and cooperative design practical exercises. Professor Daniel Winterbottom of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington in the United States was invited as a guest lecturer.
In recent years, HOPE Design has devoted to the research and application of senior care communities. HOPE has cooperated with Taikang Group, Kangmei Pharmaceutical, Junkang Group, and other top domestic senior care service providers.
This workshop serves as a good start for the school-enterprise cooperation of HOPE Design. We will endorse learning and communication and always focus on the senior care industry’s academic and practical progress. In the future, there will be more than school-enterprise cooperation, lecture forums, etc.
