The Prince Bay area is located in the southern part of Nantou Peninsula, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, and is located in the Shekou area. The Prince Bay will use and extend 15 kilometers of coastline to form a large bay area in the south of Shekou while forming a small bay area by itself. This coastal link will become the most important public space in southern Shekou, forming an unique pro-sea area in the Shenzhen coastal. At the same time, the link will retain the historical charm of the development in the special zone, then become an important clue for tourism.
The area is positioned as 「Qianhai Pilot Area, Lohas Harbor」. The project shapes its own “Lohas” attributes through the three dimensions of urban space, spiritual space, and living space. Shekou is more similar to the planning layout of a small town. While the small-scale street space forms a more life-like landscape atmosphere, we believe that the integrated design of the overall urban space should be fundamentally considered. People’s experience of participating in space activities in roads, venues and buildings should be complete and continuous. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the communication between buildings and venues, break the boundaries between passages and venues, and establish open spaces that are integrated.
