Xianglu Bay is a half-moon-shaped bay located in Zhuhai Fisher Girl Scenic Area, Guangdong Province. The length of the shoreline restoration and upgrading project is 1.5 kilometers.
The landscape belt adopts various innovative and sustainable design methods to reduce the damage to the embankment by wind and waves, while allowing everyone to enjoy this beautiful linear marine park. The series of beaches and wave-prevention facilities designed by this project not only reduce the energy of the tide, but more importantly, provide the possibility for marine life to settle on this beach again. Xianglu Bay Beach strengthens the integrity of Zhuhai’s tourism and leisure system, and realizes the transformation from dividing the ocean to integrating the ocean, from viewing the ocean to activating the ocean, and from owning the ocean to optimizing the ocean. The beach restoration introduces the 「Sponge City」 design concept and uses the breathable and water-permeable characteristics of the beach to form a buffer zone between the sea and the land, changing from hard protection to soft protection. In addition, the beach landscape of Xianglu Bay takes the story of the fisher girl as the main clue to connect important nodes such as the Mountain & Sea Square, the Children’s Playing Field, and the Sea-viewing Platform, highlighting the fisher girl culture and continuing the 「Traditional Xiangzhou Complex」 of Zhuhai people.
