Located in the east of Longgang District, Shenzhen, the Dapeng Peninsula is surrounded by the sea on three sides, Daya Bay in the east, bordering Huizhou, and Dapeng Bay in the west, looking at the New Territories of Hong Kong. It has unique mountain and sea scenery, tourism resources, rich cultural resources and obvious location advantages. And huge development potential. The East Dike reconstruction project covers 18.07 kilometers of coastline of the Dapeng Peninsula. The project starts with repairing the embankment severely damaged by the typhoon. The design aims to reshape coastal safety as the main goal. The dynamic triple shoreline links mountains, seas, cities, and residential area. In the human settlement interface, high-standard protection measures are used to prevent the negative impacts caused by extreme weather events, and systematically build the sea gateway to the east of Shenzhen.
The project solves the problem of shoreline protection by integrating and interweaving multiple factors such as shoreline protection, urban quality, physical connection between land and sea, and ecological experience. The dynamic triple shoreline links the interface between Dapeng Mountain, the sea, the city, and the human world, initiates the ecosystem and green construction, optimizes the ecological value of Dapeng, and builds a “Kunpeng Habitat” for the enjoyment of mountains and seas.
At present, the Yangmeikeng section of the East Dike project has been completed as a demonstration section, and there are other parts in Dongshan, Moon Bay, Guanhu, Shayu Bay and Pengcheng East waiting to be opened, so stay tuned.
