Shajing River is a tributary of the Maozhou River system at the estuary of Shenzhen Baoan. The entire bluepath waterfront is 5.75 kilometers long. North to Dongguan, south to the central city of Shenzhen, the location of Bao’an District used to belong to Shenzhen’s “marginal area”. But if we look at it from the perspective of the Greater Bay Area, this once marginal zone will be flipped in the future and become the core axis-the geometric center of the Greater Bay Area. Today, the Guangming District at the same latitude has received supermassive state investment, and it has risen gradually, just like the next Nanshan District. Therefore, it is not difficult to foresee that the Maozhou River Basin entering the sea will also follow the trend, showing a new look different from the central area of Shenzhen. Looking ahead, the bluepath project of Shajing River needs to prepare for the new hub in the coming future.
Through the opportunity of the bluepath project and the renewal of surrounding industries, we are facing the current situation of 「the opposite of the city and the river」. It is hoped that the spatial relationship between the river channel and the new industrial park will be improved to become an active public space backbone for the surrounding communities.
